The Monthly Meetings & Talks are Held in Ebrington Village Hall.

Costs for members are as shown in the programme. Non members cost £2
extra per person.

Wednesday 14th May, 2pm
Visit to Thenford Arboretum, Thenford, Nr Banbury. Northants. OX17 2BX
Home to Michael and Anne Heseltine. A 70 acre arboretum with three thousand different trees and extensive herbaceous borders, water gardens, sculpture gardens and a rose garden. Fee £16 per person. Refreshments available to purchase.

Gardening Club Plant Sale
A great opportunity to buy flower and vegetable plants ready to plant for this season. If you have excess plants you would like to donate please bring them along and help raise funds for the club. Tea, Coffee and cake available.

Wednesday 28 th May 2025 depart 8.15am return 6.15pm
Visit by coach to RHS Wisley, Surrey GU23 6QB
The flagship garden of the RHS and one of the UK’s best loved gardens. 240 acres to explore, including a wisteria walk, orchid house, rose garden, exotic
garden, glass house, beautiful borders and a café for refreshments.
Early booking essential. £20 per person for the coach, no entry fee. Gardening Club Members only. Depart from the 3 Oaks in Ebrington.

Visit to a “mystery garden” near Stow on the Wold
A return visit to this special organic garden with its large kitchen garden, orchard, terraces and mixed borders. The recently added wildflower bank will
be in full bloom. Cash donations on the evening to go to the North Cotswold Food Bank. Refreshments kindly donated by our hosts. Meet in Ebrington
Village Hall car park at 5.45pm to car share and be given the mystery location.

A Two and Half acre garden set against a backdrop of a 16 th century house. The garden is divided into areas which include a stumpery topiary garden, walled garden, orchard and Japanese garden with a bridge, pool and tea house.

Saturday 12 th July 2025 at 2pm
Ebrington Summer Fete at Ebrington Cricket Ground
Please donate plants and or garden bric-a-brac. A rota will be set for volunteers to help on our plant stall.
The Club gratefully receives a share of the fete’s profit.

Saturday 9 th August 2025 at 2pm
44 th Annual Flower and Vegetable Show
Washbrook Barn, Ebrington, GL55 6NW
The Club’s main event of the year. Our Traditional village show when members display their vegetables, flowers, fruit, floral art, cookery, photography and
crafts. Children’s classes too. Tea and Cake available.
Washbrook Barn is made available by kind permission of the Drinkwater family.

Following an informative talk by the owner Helen Picton last November, we will now visit her at the nurseries. Starting with an introductory talk. You will
then be able to wander at your leisure. Fee £5 per person with refreshments.

A 6 acre garden. Stone walls are covered in an abundant and varied selection of climbing and rambling roses, clematis and hydrangeas. Fee £14 per person including refreshments.

‘The Tool Man’ Ebrington Village Hall
John Mathews will talk and demonstrate the use of some unusual gardening tools. He will also have a selection of tools for sale, so don’t forget your wallet!

Floral ideas for Christmas by Christine Ramsay. Ebrington Village Hall
Christine will make two non oasis table decorations using seasonal foliage and dried flowers.

A fun evening of entertainment and good food and drink which members bring to share. No Charge Members Only.

The Heart of England Forest talk by Ros Anscombe
Ros will speak about this ambitious local charity that’s working to help reverse centuries of woodland decline and create and conserve a magnificent 30,000 acre broadleaf forest for the benefit of the environment, wildlife and people.

This beautiful Arts and Crafts garden overlooks a quiet valley on descending levels with terraces designed by Norman Jewson in the 1930’s. Enclosed by Cotswold stone walls their snowdrop collection has more than 80 varieties.

“Tool Sharpening for the Terrified”
Will Scott will demonstrate how to sharpen your tools. Members can bring their scissors, shears, knives and secateurs to be sharpened.
