The Monthly Meetings & Talks are Held in Ebrington Village Hall.

Annual Spring Show Ebrington Village Hall GL55 6NA

Spring flowers & bulbs. Flower arranging and children's classes. Teas & cakes.

Tuesday 16 April 2024 at 11am
Visit to Batsford Arboretum, Moreton in Marsh GL56 9AT

Guided tour around this unique collection of some of the world's most beautiful and rare
trees, shrubs & bamboos including their spectacular Japanese flowering cherries which will
be in bloom. Revised fee: £5 Batsford members & Batsford non-Members.

Wednesday 29 May 2024 – 8.15am to 6.15pm
Visit by Coach to RHS Bridgewater, Salford

The radical, sustainable 154 acre RHS garden which includes a huge walled garden, a no-dig
organic kitchen garden, wild garden, forest garden, a Wellbeing garden & Communal
gardens. All linked by pathways, streams, rills, lakes & ponds. Early booking essential. £20 for
coach & no entrance fee. Ebrington GC members only. Park in Village Car Park & meet under
the 3 Oaks.

Tuesday 18 June 2024 at 6.30pm
Visit to a “Mystery Garden” Near Stow on the Wold

A return visit to this special organic garden with its large kitchen garden, orchard, terraces
and mixed borders. The recently added wildflower banks will be in full bloom. Cash
donations on the night to the North Cotswold Food Bank. Refreshments kindly provided by
our hosts. Meet in Ebrington Village Hall car park at 5.45pm to car-share and be given the
mystery post code!

Saturday 13 July 2024 at 2pm
Ebrington Village Fete at Ebrington Cricket Ground

Please donate plants and/or garden bric-a-brac. A rota will be set for volunteers to help on
our stall. The Club gratefully receives a share of the Fete’s total takings.

Tuesday 16 July 2024 at 6pm
Visit to Colebrook House Gardens, Lower St. Blockley GL56 9DS

Hidden behind a wall, this stunning garden of contrasts & surprises was redrawn between
2016-2019 and continues to evolve under the creative direction of its owners and Head
Gardener Glynn Jones. £8 donation for Blockley NGS includes refreshments.

Saturday 10 August 2024
43rd Annual Flower & Vegetable Show,
Washbrook Barn, Ebrington GL55 6NW,

The Club’s major event of the year. Our traditional village show when Members
display their vegetables, flowers, fruit, floral art, cookery, photography and crafts.
Children’s classes too. Washbrook Barn has been made available by kind permission
of the Drinkwater family.

Open Gardens Evening in Charingworth, Ebrington & Hidcote Rd

Enjoy visiting some members’ gardens and finishing off with some wine & nibbles.

Tuesday 3rd September 2024 at 5.45pm for 6pm
“Working the Land” Washbrook Barn, Ebrington GL55 6NW

A tractor/trailer ride & guided talk around the Drinkwater acres showing us the crops
they’re growing, how they’re sown, managed & picked & how current trends
influence what they grow and when. Followed by Hog Roast & drinks. £10. Bring
salads or deserts to share.

Tuesday 8 October 2024 at 7.30pm
Evening Talk about The Heart of England Forest by Ros Anscombe

Ros will speak about this ambitious local charity that's working to help reverse
centuries of woodland decline and create and conserve a magnificent 30,000 acre
broadleaf forest for the benefit of the environment, wildlife and people.

Talk “Daisy Days” by Helen Picton

Helen, the third generation of Pictons to run Old Court Nurseries & Picton Garden,
will guide us through “the rise, fall and renaissance of the Michaelmas daisy”. Holder
of the National Collection of Asters & co-Author of the 2014 book 'The Plant Lovers
Guide to Asters'.

Club Christmas Party in Ebrington Village Hall

A fun evening of entertainment and good food & drink which members bring to
share. No charge. Members only.

Rose Bush

Tuesday 14 January 2025 at 7.30pm
Talk “Roses” by Andrew Mikolajski

This talk covers the history of roses, the types that are most suitable for today's
gardens and some helpful hints on growing and maintaining them - including
pruning. Andrew has contributed to several RHS reference works and is an RHS judge.

Tuesday 11 February 2025 at 6.30pm
Talk “Tulips and more in Amsterdam” by Rachel Cunynghame

A walk through the tulips in Keuchenhof Gardens and a tour round the world-famous
exhibition of Vermeer paintings with glimpses of Amsterdam life. Rachel is a lifelong
gardener and member of our gardening club. Followed by the AGM at 7.30pm

Snowdrop Flowers

Wednesday 12 February 2025 at 11am
Visit to Trench Hill for the Snowdrops, Sheepscombe GL6 6TZ

Three acres set in a small woodland with panoramic views. Carpets of snowdrops.
Also Hellebores, winter aconites, Iris reticulata & crocus. £10 including coffee & cake.

Tuesday 11 March 2025 at 7.30pm
Talk “Rare & Unusual Plants” by Paul Green

Paul set up his Greens Leaves nursery in 1994 to specialize in rare & unusual plants
from around the word. All his plants are grown in his Gloucestershire nursery so will
cope fine in our own gardens. He’ll bring some for sale on the night.

Inter-Gardening Club Quiz

Come and support our team while they battle it out against 4 other local Gardening
Clubs & try your hand at some of the questions too. Hosted this year by Bidford
Garden Society at Crawford Memorial Hall, Salford Road, Bidford-on-Avon B50 4EZ.
